2. What Data We Collect

When you use our eligibility checker, we collect:

• Property address and postcode
• EPC rating and property details (via the EPC register API)
• First name, last name, and email address
• Mobile phone number (verified by OTP)
• Household annual income band
• Whether your household receives qualifying benefits
• Your preferred energy upgrade interests

We also collect standard website analytics data (pages visited, time on site, referral source) to improve our service.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your information to:

• Assess your eligibility for government green home grants
• Match you with one MCS-certified installer in your area
• Deliver your lead to the matched installer within 24 hours
• Send you a confirmation email and SMS with next steps
• Comply with our legal obligations

We do not sell your data to third parties. Your lead is delivered exclusively to one installer — it is never shared with multiple companies simultaneously.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data under the following lawful bases:

• Contract: to fulfil our service of connecting you with an installer
• Legitimate interests: to improve our service and prevent fraud
• Legal obligation: to comply with UK GDPR, ICO requirements, and applicable regulations

5. Data Sharing

We share your data only with:

• MCS-certified installers: one installer per lead, in your borough, to arrange a free survey
• Airtable: our CRM provider, for lead management (data processed in the EU/UK)
• Twilio: for OTP SMS verification and WhatsApp notifications
• Stripe: for installer payment processing (no homeowner card data stored)

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for up to 24 months from the date of collection, or until you request deletion. Installer records may be retained for up to 6 years for legal and financial compliance purposes.

7. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Object to processing based on legitimate interests
• Request restriction of processing
• Data portability
